New Zealand Landscape Artist
Maree White

Originally from South Canterbury in the Waitaki Valley, Maree now paints in her studio on a small rural block near Whakatane, Bay of Plenty.
She is inspired by the ever changing weather patterns, dramatic changes of light, the flow of rivers and vastness of sky and oceans.
The great space where everything plays out. All is movement, energy and wonderfully interconnected.
The geometry Maree sometimes applies to her work is usually based on musical chords written from a circular musical scale rather than a linear scale. This forms triangles and more complex geometric structures. Maree sometimes composes music to go with her paintings made up of these. Mathmatics and nature.
For the last decade Maree has exhibited during Dec - Jan in the Waitaki Valley at Otematata near Benmore.
She has exhibited throughout NZ and sees herself as a New Zealand wide Artist.
White resonates with the Southern Alps, lakes and braided rivers in the South and the Oceans of the North.
